Skating School 2011–2012
Kendall Square Community Ice Skating offers a program for those who want to learn or improve their skating while having fun. Our instructors teach based on the Ice Skating Institute weSKATE Lesson Program and are handpicked for their ability to work with the lesson's age group. If you or your child has never skated before, or if you'd just like to feel more comfortable on the ice, the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating School is the one for you!
Learn to Skate
Our Learn to Skate program is designed for those who have never skated or who have never had formal lessons. We begin with how to get up and fall down on skates, then progress to the fundamentals of skating, stressing balance, glide, and proper form on the ice. In lesson 1 of each session, students will be sorted by ability to offer the most appropriate level of instruction.
All classes meet once a week for five weeks. Learn to skate classes are devided into adult (12 and older) and children (11 and under) classes.
Offered in two sessions:
SESSION 1 (Dec. 14th to Jan. 29th, no classes weeks of Dec. 20th and Dec. 27th for school and holiday vacation)
SESSION 2 (Feb. 1st to Mar. 11th, no classes week of Feb. 20th for school vacation).
Price includes admission, instruction, skate rental, and helmet on your class day. You are welcome to bring your own helmet if you prefer, but helmets are required for all of our skating students.
