Kendall Square

Where Innovation Meets Inspiration: Highlights from Experience Kendall

Boston welcomed some of the world’s most innovative and curious minds for the annual BIO International Convention—and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to showcase what makes Kendall Square a global hub for life science. Twelve local venues across Kendall Square opened their doors for EXPERIENCE KENDALL on Sunday, June 15th, to more than 350 participants from 25 countries, offering a unique glimpse into the area’s cutting-edge research, vibrant art scene, and diverse food culture.

The day began at the MIT Welcome Center, before attendees set off on their own paths, many exploring our neighborhood’s rich legacy of innovation on a guided tour with the Boston History Company, and getting a firsthand look at groundbreaking science on tours of LabCentral, and others carving out a “choose your own adventure” experience through the most innovative square mile on Earth.

After a day packed with discovery, inspiration, and collaboration, the energy carried into the evening as participants enjoyed meaningful conversations, food, and drink at Catalyst Restaurant. Local, regional, and international visitors were energized by our purpose-driven ecosystem and the people and organizations whose shared mission is to improve the human condition. Our visitors came away inspired by EXPERIENCE KENDALL, and ready to build partnerships with our members.

This event was a community collaboration, made possible by our Venue Partners: MIT Open Space, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Bayer Co.Lab, Boston Marriott Cambridge, Broad Discovery Center at the Broad Institute, Koch Institute, LabCentral, MIT Corporate Relations, MIT Museum, Ragon Institute, Innovation Trail Tours, Catalyst Restaurant.
