Reimagining the Greater Boston Tech Workforce

In the Greater Boston tech sector, there is inequitable access to education and workforce development for marginalized people. This means that a person’s race and class are relevant in their professional trajectory. Join our first conversation in a convening series, facilitated by SkillWorks and Root Cause, with the goal of creating an emergent space to re-imagine equitable and inclusive pipelines into the Greater Boston tech workforce.

When:
Dec 13th (2-3:30 pm) Daytime session OR
Dec 15th (6-7:30 pm) Nighttime session

Who should attend this event? Anyone committed to reimagining a more equitable Greater Boston tech workforce, particularly those who…
– Identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
– Received tech job training in the Greater Boston area
– Have worked in the Greater Boston tech industry for fewer than 5 years

About this event and the convening series:
How the problem is defined determines what solutions we imagine, and we believe your perspective is critical in this conversation.

For historically marginalized people and communities, there is inequitable access to education and training, limited pipelines into tech jobs, and systemic barriers to upward mobility in the tech sector. Between December 2022 and April 2023, SkillWorks is hosting a series of working sessions, facilitated by Root Cause, with the goal of creating an emergent space to re-imagine equitable and inclusive pipelines into the Greater Boston tech workforce.

For each session, we will offer two different time options (daytime and nighttime) to accommodate the different schedule needs of the tech community.

Join us to:
– Define the problem
– Vision our desired impact and;
– Chart our collective path forward.
