Life Science Cares Impact Breakfast- Reimagined!
Life Science Cares is calling on life science, biotech, and medtech companies to take action against poverty during the organization’s annual Impact Breakfast fundraiser. The 2020 event, set for Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 8 to 9 a.m., is a virtual celebration raising critical dollars for Life Science Care’s end-of-year grant making to a network of nonprofits providing basic human services, education and economic sustainability programs. Governor Deval Patrick, the event’s keynote speaker, will share his thoughts on the community’s collective responsibility to uphold the ideals of equity and access to opportunity for everyone, especially people of color. Sarah MacDonald, Executive Director of Life Science Cares, will update attendees on the organization’s COVID-19 response and vision for equity. Since its founding in 2016, Life Science Cares, a platform for members of the life sciences industry to give back while also giving nonprofits the funds and volunteer power necessary to grow and innovate, has worked with more than 350 companies to distribute more than $3.5 million in grants to 42 community organizations. In addition, Life Science Cares has directed more than 12,000 hours of community service from volunteers from the sector. New this year, companies may participate in the Life Science Cares Corporate Fundraising Challenge, a friendly competition in which companies rally employees to engage in peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns to raise money to support the organization’s 27 nonprofit partners. Challenge Awards will be presented during the live virtual event, which is open to professionals working across all industries.
Sponsorship of the event is available by contact Christine Casalini at christine@lifesciencecares.org. Individual tickets are $300 and must be purchased in advance.
