Lunch Break: Plant Music
About this event
A performance by Cambridge-based sound designer and artist Skooby Laposky. Skooby will play the plants and trees in the open space, reading their biodata and turning those measurements into a generative composition of dreamy, ambient music.

- This will be an outdoor event – make sure to bring an extra layer or hot beverage to keep warm in the chilly Fall weather
Keeping us safe: This event will follow all MIT policies and Covid safety guidelines. Face coverings are not required outdoors for vaccinated individuals, but you are most welcome to wear one if you wish. For unvaccinated individuals, wearing a face covering outdoors is required when unable to maintain 3 feet of physical distance.

About Skooby
Skooby Laposky is a sound designer and artist based in Cambridge, MA. He works with biodata sonification devices to create generative real-time sound installations, musical recordings and live performances. Using these devices has allowed for sunlight, temperature, humidity and many other environmental factors to shape the contours of the music.
