Portraits of Pride

Don’t miss a special evening of words and wisdom from cross-sector LGBTQ+ leaders of Greater Boston when the Museum of Science partners with Portraits of Pride Boston!

Telling the stories of LGBTQ+ people and celebrating how far we’ve come as a marginalized community of society is always important- particularly now amidst the recent hateful rhetoric and legislative proposals that aim to attack our community. Join Creative Director Jean Dolin for a night of conversation and community featuring some of the activists, leaders, influencers, and unsung heroes being honored in this year’s Portraits of Pride art exhibition, to uplift and celebrate LGBTQ+ voices in our city.

Portraits of Pride is a large-scale photography exhibit that honors members of the LGBTQ+ community of Boston and beyond, serving as a compass for advocacy and visibility. The exhibition launched in October 2022 as a commemoration of LGBTQ History Month, with twenty-two 8ft tall portraits on the Boston Common. This year, the exhibit will return with a new set of portraits of leaders, activists, and influencers to be installed on the City Hall Plaza of Boston in June in celebration of Pride month. This year’s exhibit is being hosted by Mayor Michelle Wu and it will feature Portraits of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Retired Pioneer Chief Justice Marshall, and Harvard & MGH Dr. Scott Hadland amongst others. The portraits are captured by world-renowned photographer John Huet.
