KENDALL SQUARE CHALLENGE

The 2025 Kendall Square Challenge will take place on June 11, 2024 (Rain date: June 12)

Imagine conquering Kendall Square with just a map, your wits, and your team of colleagues–daring innovators all. On June 12th, the 2024 Kendall Square Challenge transformed the entire district into a life-sized board game, with 500+ people in 55 teams racing around Kendall, competing to win the Kendall Cup, and collaborating to raise $50,000 for five local non-profits. INNOVATION FOR PEOPLE AND THE PLANET

KENDALL TOURS

Join us for a guided tour of Kendall Square’s public spaces, businesses and history of innovation and transformation. We’ll end the tour at a local Kendall restaurant for a quick lunch. Happening from 12:00 -1:00 PM.

MEMBER SOCIALS

Casual gatherings in fun Kendall spaces offer a way for members to mix, mingle and network. Free for all KSA members.

KENDALL CONVERSATIONS

Gatherings that feature thought leaders and give our members the opportunity to engage with one another on topics important to Kendall Square, and the world.

In 2024, we hosted conversations that focused on AI, the transformation of Kendall Square into the premier global life science innovation ecosystem, Women in Science, and What’s Working as remote, hybrid, and flexible work have changed the way we work.

Coming up, conversations on health equity, housing, transportation, sustainability, and more.

BELONGING IN KENDALL

Building on the transformational Inclusion Drives Innovation (IDI) course we launched three years ago, we have developed a new multi-track approach to building a welcoming community for all in Kendall.

5 WEEK COURSE: We offer a 5-week foundational course focused on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The fee per participant is $1,500, and sponsorships are welcome. Scheduled for February – March 2025.

FILM SERIES: Our Film Series gathers the Kendall community to raise awareness and stimulate discussion on belonging, and what it means in Kendall Square and the greater Boston community. This series is open to all KSA members, free of charge.

DEIB COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE: Launched in 2024, this series of quarterly meetings for KSA’s leaders in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging provides opportunities to connect, share best practices, and address common challenges.  This series is free of charge. 

SENIOR LEADERS EQUITY GROUP: We continue to offer senior leaders in Kendall the opportunity to gather in small, facilitated groups to focus on equity and belonging.

PROFESSIONAL PEER MEETUPS

We host gatherings to enable people from across Kendall to connect and work collaboratively with their counterparts in similar roles – communications, corporate social responsibility, open space planning and programming, and more – at other Kendall organizations. These gatherings help our members network and share information, benchmark priorities, and problem-solve around emerging issues. Interested? Let us know!

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND MORE UPDATES 

Tackling challenges together is essential to our shared future in Kendall Square, and beyond. Transportation, Housing, Energy, Infrastructure, and Vibrancy are all challenges no one member can take on alone. We send out a monthly Government Relations Updates to our members’ government relations leaders. We collaborate with government officials, advocates, and allies in the city, state, and beyond. We gather data. We listen to our members, and we develop policies and strategies to support our ever-changing, innovative, and caring ecosystem. We advocate for Kendall Square.  Working collectively we make an impact. 

KENDALL GREEN

Kendall Square is a leader in sustainability, thanks to the innovations coming out of Kendall every day combined with our commitment to deploying state-of-the-art sustainability measures while working to improve the human condition. The Kendall GREEN project is our way of sharing with the world the many ways KSA members are doing their part to combat climate change – inside, outside, above, below, and beyond our buildings.
