Mysteries of Animal Hibernation presented by Siniša Hrvatin, Member, Whitehead Institute

To survive harsh environments, many warm-blooded animals profoundly decrease body temperature and enter states of dormancy, such as hibernation. How animals initiate these states and how cells and organs adapt to survive in them remains largely unknown. The Hrvatin lab focuses on how the brain orchestrates entry into hibernation-like states and how organs and cells prepare for them. In this webinar, learn more about these fascinating natural adaptations and how they have the potential to advance medicine.
