Symphony for Science

Founded in 2018, Kendall Square Orchestra (K2O) brings together members of the local science and technology community to collaborate through music – breaking down barriers between institutions and leveraging their geographic proximity in a unique way – and COVID-19 hasn’t stopped them. They are an audible representation of the collaboration we seek within our industries, with players from 30+ local corporate and academic institutions.

Symphony for Science is an annual benefit event that raises money for supporting research and therapies for rare diseases. This year, their 2020 benefit will support Next Step, a local Cambridge non-profit that supports young adults with rare diseases, cancers, and HIV, as they age out of pediatric care into adulthood. The work they do is amazing: the individuals they support benefit from their range of resources from academic support when their disease makes them miss school to music therapy in the form of their Song Studio.

We hope you’ll be able to join us on December 17 for a performance that reminds us how powerful we are when we’re together and that we’re all still connected through a common mission to advance human health through science and technology.
